Pipe Organ for Sale
The Pipe Organ Foundation wishes to divest itself of a pipe organ which it is currently unable to place. This instrument is a 1924 III/14 Kimball pipe organ which is in very good condition. It was originally placed in an auditorium at Eastern Washington State University, and when it was acquired by the Foundation, it was completely functional with every note playing. The Echo division was prepared for but never installed in the organ. Functioning on 7.5 inches of wind and with generously scaled pipework, the instrument speaks with significant authority. The chestwork is Pitman primarily but with additional magnets to permit some unification. Inspection of the chests did not reveal a need for releathering and the regulators also did not require releathering although some external leather has been scuffed. The switching mechanism has been partially updated with electronic components.
Photos of the organ are in the left sidebar, and more are available upon request. The complete organ was packed away carefully and it has been well preserved in dry storage. All pipes except for the larger ones are in pipe trays which go with the instrument. It is in the state of Washington, and most of it is in the Seattle area.
The Pipe Organ Foundation is currently receiving inquiries about this instrument and offers for it. If you have an interest in it, we would urge you to contact us for more information. We are seeking only a modest sum for this organ, but we do hope that whoever acquires it will preserve it. We would assist in making connections for pickup or shipping, and it is noted that it will fit into a 26 foot truck if it is tightly packed.
The details about this organ are available at the Organ Historical Society Data Base.
